About Us

"My father founded Missouri Furniture, Inc., in 1977 in Camdenton, Missouri. As a child, I fondly remember working side-by-side with my dad in the store, and I am pleased to say that my own children now enjoy working alongside me. My dad passed away in 2014, but his passion for the business and the lessons he taught will live on for generations. Our daily mission at Missouri Furniture is to exceed your expectations through exceptional service, breadth of products, and great price value. Our mission has never, and will never, change." - Dave Faiferlick, Owner

It all started with an old bread truck, bumpy gravel roads, and a hard-working family with a passion. In 1977, Neil Faiferlick opened up the first store in Camdenton, hoping to present the very best home furnishing options, but more importantly, wanting to provide unbeatable service that would have people coming back for decades. Neil’s then 10-year-old son, David, was with him every step of the way, helping both in the store and out on deliveries. Their original delivery truck (an old, re-branded bread truck) was the first step in providing that exceptional service, making its way on tough and bumpy, unpaved roads to deliver furniture to customers all around the area.

As the years passed, more and more people started relying on Missouri Furniture to furnish their homes. With the increase in demand, David and his father decided it was time to open up a second store in Jefferson City. It wasn’t long until the third location opened in Columbia and a fourth in Sedalia. As David managed these new stores, the team updated the inventory and management systems as well as expanded the distribution center outside of Camdenton, allowing Missouri Furniture to operate even more efficiently. This made it possible to open two more locations in St. James and Ozark. By the early 1990s, Missouri Furniture had six locations, and even with these multiple expansions, that commitment to exceptional service was still their number one priority.

After Neil passed away in 2015, David’s wife Karen joined the Missouri Furniture team. Karen brought a strong business acumen after working 27 years in corporate marketing. With Karen as a partner, she and David decided to open a seventh location in Kirksville. They also partnered with Ashley Furniture, and opened Ashley Homestores in Osage Beach, Sedalia, Jefferson City, and St. James. Growth continues for the company as they are currently building a location in Washington, Missouri that will have both a Missouri Furniture showroom and Ashley furniture showroom.

With all of these locations, the Missouri Furniture team is delighted to be able to serve their friends throughout the entire state. Because of their dedication to their customers and their community, David and Karen do everything they can to support all things local. They support the Camdenton R-III Education Foundation, Laker Athletic and Band Boosters, Citizens Against Domestic Violence, Young Life, and many other supportive organizations.  They also give back to the community they love with their time.  David is a prior member of the Camdenton Board of Education, and Karen currently serves on the Lake Regional Healthy System Board of Directors.

Following in David’s footsteps of working with and being mentored by his father, sons, Grant and Connor, have also joined the Missouri Furniture team. Three generations of the family leading Missouri Furniture is something both David and Karen are very proud to see. David appreciates being able to provide home furnishings for his friends across the state, but he also knows that Missouri Furniture stands for so much more. “My father taught me the importance of working hard, always focusing on our customers, and giving back to our community. We’ve instilled those same values in our children. Delivering exceptional customer service has been our number one priority for more than 40 years. Together with our sons, this will continue well into the future.”
